Growing up in the Eastend of Glasgow with money tight as a youngster made owning a vespa

of my own looking like a million miles away. However as the years past and a lot of sweat and tears developing my food import/export company that dream was getting even closer.

I had always looked at the customised Vespa's in Scootering and wished that the day would come where i could have my own customised scooter that would turn heads. In that time lots wonderful machines passed my eyes but I always stuck in my mind "Sacrilege" and when it came up for sale about a year ago I could not pass up the opportunity to own this scooter.

Now living in the north east of the country it was ironic trip back to Glasgow that allowed me to live the dream "Sacrilege" started life as a 150 Special and over time has been upgraded to a 200 engine with a Malossi Kit with its widened body Harley Davidson handle bars and petrol tank as well as side stand and bright colours it is a real head turner that I am really proud of.

Having caught the scooter bug I trawled the internet looking for my next piece of history which turned out to be a GS160 this is the 1962 model which has on battery making it a very rare model and only a few remain that are still road worthy which I bought on advice from Ross Paterson who stays next door to me he said t hat this was a real iconic scooter. The GS I bought from Cape Town via Hastings and appeared in Scootering the month after I bought it. At the moment it is getting ready for it's MOT and registering so it will hopefully be ready for the road at the start of the season.

Lastly for now anyway I have managed to lay my hands on a 1976 Primavera a couple of weeks after buying the GS a customer of mine approached me and said he had a Vespa for sale and asked if I was interested after a quick look at the scooter I decided it was too good an opportunity to be missed. It found it way from California to Aberdeen in the 80's when a minister had it brought over from the states. It has been stored ever since with it's original paint and only 500 miles on the clock this has a lot of life in it for the next few years.

Since starting to live the dream I have joined the Buchan Coasters Scooter Club and with my limited knowledge of rebuilding engines help from the like's of Ross, Totti and Scottie will be very valuable, at present I have been banned by my wife Kim from buying any more scooters but that is only a temporary set back.
